Dr.
Richard Fine: Dr Fine
is a board certified surgeon and director of Advance Breast
Care.
He is a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases and
has extensive experience with new and innovative breast biopsy methods
and devices. He is a frequent lecturer and educator regarding the use
of ultrasound technology. Dr. Fine has published many
articles
related to stereotactic and ultrasound core needle biopsy. He was
appointed by Governor Zell Miller to the State's Cancer Advisory
Committee in 1996 and participates in numerous professional and
community organizations. Dr Fine also serves on the board of the
American Society of Breast Surgeons and the National Consortium of
Breast Centers.
Dr Fine has specialized in breast surgical
oncology since 1987. He has a family history of breast cancer
which led him to make the decision to specialize in this field.
He understands how important it is to have
complete trust in the judgment and ability of those caring for you or
a loved one.
Dr Fine is married and has two
children, a son and a daughter. His son
attends college in Boston and his daughter is in high school. He and
his wife keep busy traveling with his daughters soccer team and
visiting his son in Boston.
Cindy
Matthews,WHNP: Cindy
Matthews has been working
collaboratively with Dr Fine for many years. Her decision to
work
within the breast specialty field was due in part to the influence of
the many patient's she cared for while working at Kennestone Wellstar
Hospital. Cindy has had the opportunity to
participate in many community events to
promote breast cancer awareness.
She
is a member of various national organizations and stays current on
the most recent advances in breast cancer. Cindy lectures at
Georgia State University in the Masters Program and has edited a
chapter on Breast Health and Breast Cancer in Mosby's most
recent undergraduate nursing
textbook "Medical/Surgical Nursing".
Cindy is married and has three daughters. Her oldest daughter
is
married and has a little girl, Emily Elizabeth, making Cindy a
grandmother! Cindy and her husband enjoy scuba diving,
camping,
reading, and of course spending time with Emily.
